Major Arcana cards:VIII Strength

Card Interpretation
On this card, the Goddess of Victory bends down to stroke a ferocious lion, soothing the beast— a symbol of fear— in her arms with her tenderness and love. The card embodies the union of love and unwavering will. It is precisely through love and willpower that humanity can overcome hardships and keep forging ahead throughout the course of history. The lion represents human instincts, while the maiden symbolizes love and obedience. These two forces must exist in harmony and support each other to become a power capable of conquering the world. Additionally, the card signifies that you have the ability to resolve the difficult situation you are currently facing, and that you are filled with confidence in your inner strength.
When interpreting this card, it is essential to focus on the principle of "combining firmness with gentleness". Human instincts are rooted in fear, which requires rationality to control and comfort; yet one must not lose the driving force of instinct, and rationality should also offer encouragement. This highlights that "balance" is the most crucial element in Tarot interpretations.
Like the Magician, the Goddess of Strength has an infinity symbol above her head, a harbinger of her boundless power. Unlike the Magician, however, her power lacks the latter’s sharpness and aggressiveness, instead exuding a sense of compassion and tolerance. With a merciful gaze, she gently closes the lion’s jaws with her seemingly delicate hands, effortlessly taming the primal ferocity of the king of beasts. The compassion in her eyes seems to sympathize with the lion’s animalistic nature, and the lion— a symbol of conquest— turns docile and approachable under her calm and benevolent stare. Perhaps a forgiving heart is the true source of strength.
Upright Position
When drawn upright, the card signifies: Bold action, courageous decision-making, new developments, major turning points, unexpected changes, overcoming difficulties through willpower, and a strong-willed woman.
In your career, you are constantly surpassing yourself. Your superiors and clients have full confidence in you, and achievements keep coming your way. In love, you are about to develop a truly intimate relationship. You and your partner will be fully devoted to each other, sharing your innermost thoughts without the slightest sense of distance.
Reversed Position
When drawn reversed, the card signifies: Cowardice, being defeated by stronger opponents, inability to resist temptation, submitting to authority and conventional wisdom, giving up without putting ideas into practice, vanity, weakness, and impatience. Inner fears are holding you back, bringing your career to a standstill and making you lose confidence. In love, you are plagued by anxiety over gains and losses, and you have lost your ability to make sober judgments.
Leo

Leos are confident, resilient, and brimming with courage. They strive to overcome their inner primal instincts.
