Especially when you are weighed down by guilt, he will always be willing to listen patiently to your confession.

This is a card symbolizing the awakening of conscience and kindness, as well as one representing religious faith and tradition. In contrast to the Emperor, who rules over the material realm, he leans more toward the spiritual sphere. He is an authority of the spirit and an interpreter of the unknown world. Since the Hierophant can communicate directly with the Divine, he strives to redeem mortal souls with compassion and insight, guiding people onto the righteous path through his teachings.

On the card, the Hierophant holds his hands high to spread the doctrine to the masses, while devout believers kneel on the ground, listening reverently to his words. Yet it is important to note that he also stands for traditional knowledge and conservative morality—he can constrain people’s thinking and narrow their perspectives.
